The Atlanta Braves have to discover a method to take a step ahead within the 2027 MLB season.
They’d an important 2026 marketing campaign however misplaced within the NLDS to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Milwaukee Brewers could effectively finish L.A.’s reign within the NLCS, however the Braves might be at dwelling watching slightly than nonetheless enjoying.
That raises the potential of absolutely anything and every thing for this offseason.
Analysts are already questioning whether or not the Braves would commerce the likes of Ronald Acuna Jr. or Ozzie Albies.
However perhaps extra fascinating is the concept of who the Braves may add. And a brand new identify floated on the market on Tuesday: Gunnar Henderson.
Braves Predicted to Commerce for Gunnar Henderson
Henderson is the slugging famous person shortstop for the Baltimore Orioles.
And after one other disappointing season in Baltimore, perhaps Henderson might be out there? Bleacher Report’s Zachary D. Rymer wrote in a brand new article on Tuesday that he thinks the Braves ought to pursue a deal for Henderson this offseason.
“Reality be instructed, there might not be a greater time than this winter for the Baltimore Orioles to commerce Gunnar Henderson,” Rymer writes. “… His 65 homers and 14.9 rWAR made him a famous person in 2023 and 2024. Throughout 2025 and 2026, these totals fell to 41 homers and eight.6 rWAR. The free-agent market is so barren, nevertheless, that different groups may simply be keen to pay the Orioles’ worth for Henderson slightly than the worth he’s really price. He’d certainly be a worthwhile mission, provided that he’s nonetheless simply 25 years outdated and managed by means of 2028. If the Braves don’t have already got Henderson on their radar, they need to. Their shortstop place has been unsettled for years, and it stands to be wide-open as soon as Ha-Seong Kim and Mauricio Dubón file without cost company.”
Henderson’s energy continues to be spectacular, and he’s nonetheless clean on the bases and within the area. Baltimore’s complete operation has appeared to carry its gamers again in latest seasons.
A contemporary begin in a high-end group just like the Braves might be precisely what he wants.
Gunnar Henderson Commerce Price
Henderson wouldn’t come low-cost, and that’s the place the Braves may get held up.
The ask, just like the Tigers reportedly had for Tarik Skubal, might be younger right-handed pitcher Didier Fuentes.
“In response to Peter Abraham of The Boston Globe, the Braves weren’t keen to maneuver Didier Fuentes in a rental commerce for Tarik Skubal,” Rymer writes. “Would they rethink if it meant getting Henderson for not less than two years?”
Fuentes is promising, and the Braves clearly consider in his long-term potential.
Henderson might be the face of the franchise if he hits the bottom operating in Atlanta.
It’s a tricky name, but when it actually finally ends up on the desk, it’d be powerful for the Braves to justify turning that probability down.
