The Chicago Cubs celebrated the tenth anniversary of their 2016 World Collection title, essentially the most pivotal second within the workforce’s historical past. Since that magical autumn, the franchise has endured greater than its justifiable share of bumps and bruises. None extra hurtful than watching their sworn rival, the Milwaukee Brewers, win a World Collection. To many Cubs followers, the Brewers are the pesky neighbor, the proverbial rock of their shoe.
Separated by lower than 100 miles, Chicago and Milwaukee, from an organizational standpoint, can’t be totally different. Chicago, backed by a billionaire household, enjoys important monetary benefits over the Brewers. But, the Brewers proceed to foil Chicago’s plans to return to the Fall Traditional. But, with free company cash of their pocket, what ought to the Cubs do to discover a solution to shut the hole?
10 years in the past right now, the Chicago Cubs received the 2016 World Collection Championship by defeating the Indians in Sport 7 of the 2016 World Collection 🙌🏼
After being down 3-1, the Cubs got here again and have become World Collection Champions for the primary time in 108 years 🙏🏼 https://t.co/veRvx55vWR

Ignore the Previous
Regardless of successful 89 video games, Chicago didn’t really feel any nearer to the Brewers. Being in second place fourteen video games in the past should really feel like a stone within the collective souls of the fan base. Furthermore, the variety of free brokers seems to be rising every day. From Ian Happ to Seiya Suzuki, you will notice new faces across the pleasant confines.
On the mound, the entrance workplace tried to bolster the roster with trades to no avail. In renting Clay Holmes and Tyrone Taylor from the New York Mets, the Cubs parted with Jefferson Rojas, who mechanically turned the Mets’ high prospect. Holding on to these info does nothing to assist the long run.
Shorten Swings
Whereas Chicago’s strikeout whole of 1,345 is slightly below the league common of 1,357, the workforce nonetheless struggled to make constant contact. Too many free swings killed scoring probabilities. Critics will say that the Cubs led MLB with 845 runs scored.
Earlier than shifting focus to pitching, I imagine the #Cubs major precedence needs to be re-signing Seiya Suzuki.
The #Cubs provided Seiya a qualifying supply of $23.15 million, and I’d be shocked if he took it, as a result of I imagine he can get the next paycheck.
Though Seiya has but to say no the supply, he has till November seventeenth to just accept or decline it.
If the #Cubs get Seiya’s contract found out first, I imagine it could put much less stress on them to seek out what they really want within the free agent market, and that’s PITCHING.
WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!
Ought to the #Cubs prioritize Seiya Suzuki, or do you assume they are going to be high quality letting him check free company?
LET’S HEAR IT!

Land an Ace
Granted, left-hander Tarik Skubal is the most-coveted pitcher in the marketplace. Nevertheless, with a price ticket that would doubtlessly eclipse $300 million, the Cubs have to put money into different arms. For instance. Michael King. Who is simply a few years youthful than Skubal, can pitch in high-stakes moments for a 3rd of the asking value. Granted, his ceiling is decrease, however touchdown a participant who may get you 14-17 wins behind a powerful lineup ought to by no means go unnoticed.
Nevertheless, the crown jewel of the Cubs’ free company may very well be Freddy Peralta. Peralta, the long-time Brewer, possesses the one trait that each workforce wants. He excels later within the season. For instance, he’s 29-14 from August to October. Plus, his groups have made the playoffs seven occasions, together with his final workforce, the Tampa Bay Rays, advancing to the World Collection.
Bleacher Report’s @kerrancejames ranked Freddy Peralta’s high 5 touchdown spots:
1. #Cubs
2. #SFGiants
3. #BlueJays
4. #Tigers
5. #WhiteSoxESPN’s @kileymcd has Peralta No. 3 on his free-agent board, projecting 4 years, $96M ($24M AAV).
He had a 3.25 ERA in 10 regular-season begins with the Rays after the 2026 deadline.

Overview
The Cubs, on the entire, appear like they will compete with a couple of upgrades. They should make clear the kind of workforce they need to turn out to be. The Brewers have a profitable blueprint: deal with drafting and creating expertise whereas making smaller trades. The Dodgers, in distinction, deal with maximizing their spending each time doable. If Chicago can discover a stability between these two approaches, the hole between them and their NL Central rival will slim.
