Former New York Mets 35-Yr-Previous Pitcher Turns into Free Agent
Now, with the offseason right here, a former New York Mets pitcher is hitting the free agent market.
In keeping with MLB.com’s official transaction log, former Mets pitcher Ryne Stanek has elected free company.
“RHP Ryne Stanek elected free company,” MLB.com wrote.
Stanek turning into a free agent comes after he had a 2-3 report, two saves, 65 strikeouts, and a 4.02 ERA in 70 video games for the St. Louis Cardinals in 2026.
Taking a Look Again at Stanek’s Time With the Mets
The Mets acquired Stanek from the Seattle Mariners in change for pitcher Rhylan Thomas through the 2024 season.
Following this, Stanek spent the remainder of the 2024 marketing campaign and the complete 2025 season with the Mets. In 82 video games with New York over that span, the 35-year-old pitcher posted a 5-6 report, a 5.47 ERA, and 81 strikeouts.
Stanek’s time with the Mets ended throughout this previous offseason when he signed a one-year, $3.5 million contract with the Cardinals. Now, after spending this season with St. Louis, he’s as soon as once more a free agent.
Groups in search of extra expertise for his or her bullpen may take into account taking an opportunity on Stanek. It will likely be intriguing to see the place the previous Met finally ends up signing from right here.
