The New York Yankees will probably be a really intriguing workforce to observe throughout this offseason. After one other disappointing postseason, New York needs to be seeking to strengthen their roster this offseason.
One space that the Yankees may look to enhance is their bullpen. That is particularly so if they’re unable to efficiently re-sign David Bednar.
As a consequence of this, they’re now being urged to commerce for a two-time All-Star pending free agent this offseason in what can be an interesting transfer.
New York Yankees Urged to Commerce for 2X All-Star
In a current article for SI.com, Joe Najarian urged the Yankees to signal Seattle Mariners reduction pitcher Andres Munoz this offseason.
“There’s no assure that Andrés Muñoz is obtainable, as he has membership choices with the Mariners for each 2027 and 2028; the 2027 choice is $9 million. However on condition that the 27-year-old endured a down 12 months, it’s not out of the realm of risk that Seattle strikes on from him,” Najarian wrote. “In that case, the Yankees ought to completely take a flier on Muñoz, who enhances a triple-digit fastball with a disgusting slider.”
With the Yankees needing bullpen assist, it’s comprehensible that they’re being linked to Munoz. In the event that they acquired him, he would have the potential to enhance their bullpen properly.
Munoz is coming off a down season, although. In 61 video games this marketing campaign with the Mariners, he had a 5-6 document, a 4.24 ERA, and 89 strikeouts. But, this was after the two-time All-Star had a 1.73 ERA in 64 video games in 2025 and a 2.12 ERA in 60 video games in 2024. Thus, he can be a chief bounce-back candidate to observe if New York acquired him.
Ought to the Yankees Make This Commerce?
Even when the Yankees efficiently re-sign Bednar, Munoz is a pitcher they need to take into account buying and selling for. Sure, it will be a daring transfer since Munoz simply had a troublesome 12 months. Nonetheless, his previous success is just too onerous to disregard, and he may bounce again in an enormous manner subsequent season.
If the Yankees acquired Munoz and he regained his high kind, he can be an enormous addition to their roster. From 2022 to 2025, he had an ERA beneath 3.00. Thus, he has proven that he is usually a main difference-maker when pitching at his finest.
Nonetheless, it is going to be attention-grabbing to see if the Yankees can strike a deal for Munoz. He can be an intriguing pitcher for them so as to add to their roster.
