The ALDS and NLDS schedules each start on Saturday.
It’s a curious selection that appears worse when you think about the remainder of the sports activities calendar.

Why Are There No MLB Video games Tonight?
There aren’t any MLB video games on Friday night time due to how the playoff schedule is now arrange with the best-of-three Wild Card Spherical.
The common season ends on a Sunday, and that’s nearly definitely by no means going to alter.
Which means the earliest you may start the subsequent spherical is on a Tuesday, and that’s what MLB did — all 4 Wild Card Sequence started on Tuesday.
They had been scheduled for 3 consecutive days, so any sequence that went three video games would finish on Thursday.
MLB couldn’t actually schedule the subsequent spherical on a Friday for the group ending on a Thursday.
Now this 12 months, three of the 4 Wild Card Sequence ended on Wednesday, however MLB doesn’t actually have a way of adjusting to that on the fly.
The best state of affairs would by some means function matchups that had been already established, and never first-round bye groups ready to play groups that had video games in the course of the week.
Say, for instance, when 5 groups acquired in for every league. You might then have the 4- and 5-seeds play a sequence, have the 1-seed awaiting that winner, however have the 2- and 3-seeds straight into the Division Sequence with out having to attend for anybody. That’d be a super recreation to start out on a Friday night time.
MLB received’t be subtracting groups from the playoffs anytime quickly, although.
