The Houston Astros have been one of the best teams in Major League Baseball as they appeared in seven straight American League Championship Series.
Although that streak was snapped in 2024, the Astros still won the American League West with a record of 88-73.
The Astros dynasty could be coming to an end, however, as they have traded outfielder Kyle Tucker to the Chicago Cubs and third baseman Alex Bregman remains unsigned as a free agent.
Former MLB general manager Jim Bowden recently revealed what the Astros must do with Bregman.
“Houston has to get this done,” Bowden said, via MLB Network Radio on Sirius XM.

Bregman debuted with the Astros in 2016 and has played all nine seasons of his MLB career with the organization.
Having been with the team since then, Bregman has been a key contributor to their extended run of success.
In 2024, Bregman played 145 games and batted .260 with 26 home runs, 75 RBIs and a .768 OPS.
After trading Tucker to the Cubs, Bowden said he believes the Astros need to re-sign Bregman not only for his performance on the field but also for his clubhouse presence.
The 30-year-old reportedly has drawn interest from multiple teams, so it will be interesting to see if the Astros pay up to bring him back as they look to make their ninth straight postseason appearance and win their fifth straight AL West title.
Bregman will be a name to keep an eye on for a possible decision coming soon.
